LAURA LING & EUNA LEE ARE FREE

LAURA LING & EUNA LEE ARE FREE

The American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee from Current TV received a special pardon from North Korean president, Kim Jong II. They were arrested in March while documenting the trafficking of women in the region. In June they were sentenced to 12 years of hard labor under the premise that they illegally went into North Korea from China without a Visa. The journalists work on the show Vanguard, which makes documentaries about issues around the world, without intervening too much or being political. The cable channel, Current TV is led by former vice president Al Gore. On Tuesday former president Bill Clinton went to Pyongyang, North Korea to talk to leaders and convince them that journalists had no intentions to disparage the country, but rather report from a humanitarian point of view. There is no doubt that America made a deal with the communist dictator Kim Jong II. This altercation also shows how diplomatic Clinton was in his own presidency and the level of respect Obama still need to earn from dangerous weapon bearing countries like North Korea.
